Their shops are located right in the heart of every historic centers of the island and in strategic places of tourism where you can witness a real competition of colors, shapes and inventiveness, among vases, plates, tiles with floral motifs; different majolica, refined landscape representations and precious objects that are to be considered real works of art on permanent display. A type of craftsmanship that expresses the roots of a peasant culture is that of weaving reeds or branches of mortella: with this technique, in particular in Buonopane, baskets of different diameter, panniers, containers of various sizes, items of everyday use, which can be found especially during fairs and various patronal feasts that are celebrated throughout the year. In Forio, in memory of the tradition of wheat cultivation, which has now disappeared, it is still possible to meet those who use straw and raffia to create baskets of different sizes and curious dolls. On the island there is no shortage of ethnic inspired shops, full of lively and colorful objects, and shops where wood is used to unleash artistic imagination. Finally, for lovers of antique prints, in Ischia Ponte and Forio it's possible to buy collector's items.
